Over the next three days (June 24 to 26), the core rainfall area in China will stretch along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to the northern part of the region south of the Yangtze, possibly accompanied by severe convective weather. Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi and other places need to be on alert for disasters caused by sustained heavy rainfall. Under the pressure of rain, maximum temperatures in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will mostly stay below 30°C over the coming week, while South China will see more hot and humid weather with an oppressive, muggy feel. In contrast, most of northern China will be sunny, and high temperatures will occur frequently in Xinjiang and North China over the coming week, so the public should take precautions against heat and keep cool.
Meiyu rains persist along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River; Anhui, Jiangxi and other places need to be on alert for secondary disasters
From yesterday to this morning, heavy rain in the south occurred from Yunnan and Guizhou to the northern part of the region south of the Yangtze. In the north, as the low vortex moved eastward, the rainfall area contracted toward Northeast China. Monitoring shows that from 8 a.m. yesterday to 6 a.m. today, moderate to heavy rain fell in parts of eastern Yunnan, southern Guizhou, northwestern Guangxi, southeastern Hubei, central and northeastern Hunan, southern Anhui, northern Jiangxi, northwestern Zhejiang and western Hainan Island, with localized torrential rain in Huangshan in Anhui, Hangzhou in Zhejiang, Jiujiang in Jiangxi, Qianxinan in Guizhou, Baise in Guangxi, Chuxiong in Yunnan and Changjiang in Hainan. Moderate to heavy rain, with localized torrential rain, occurred in parts of southeastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin and eastern Liaoning.
Over the next three days, the position of the subtropical high will be relatively stable, with a continuous supply of moisture moving northward along its edge and converging with southward-moving cold air to form precipitation. The core rainfall area will be located along the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River to the northern part of the region south of the Yangtze, with intense rainfall in some places.
The National Meteorological Center forecasts that today there will be moderate to heavy rain in parts of northeastern Heilongjiang, eastern Jilin, most of the region south of the Yangtze, southern Southwest China, and northern and western South China, with torrential or heavy torrential rain in parts of southern Anhui, central and northern Hunan, central and northern Jiangxi, central and northern Zhejiang, southeastern Guizhou and northern Guangxi.

Tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain will fall in parts of most of the region south of the Yangtze, southern Southwest China, and northern and western South China, with torrential or heavy torrential rain in parts of southern Anhui, most of Shanghai, central and northern Jiangxi, central and northern Zhejiang and northern Guangxi.

The day after tomorrow, moderate to heavy rain will occur in parts of eastern Jianghan, northern Jiangnan, eastern Southwest China and southwestern Yunnan, with torrential or heavy torrential rain in parts of southern Anhui, western Shanghai, central and northern Hunan, northern Jiangxi and central and northern Zhejiang.

The meteorological department reminds the public that over the next three days, northern Jiangnan, southern Jianghan, southern Jianghuai and Guizhou will experience sustained heavy rainfall. The public should avoid activities in hazardous areas such as river channels and mountainous areas, and Hubei, Hunan, Anhui, Jiangxi and other places should be especially on alert for various secondary disasters such as mountain torrents, geological disasters, floods in small and medium-sized rivers, and urban and rural waterlogging.
South China noticeably muggy; high temperatures frequent in many parts of Northwest and North China
Affected by sustained rainfall, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will be relatively cool over the next few days. For example, maximum temperatures in Nanchang and Hangzhou will stay below 30°C over the coming week, lower than the same period in normal years. In South China, although there will be little high temperature, air humidity will be high and the muggy feel will be obvious, with many places experiencing a sauna-like sensation.
In the north, high temperatures in North China, Huanghuai and other places will briefly decrease today. Starting tomorrow, temperatures in eastern Northwest China, North China and other places will quickly rise again. High temperatures will mainly occur in Xinjiang, central Shaanxi, northern Shandong and the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, where the number of high-temperature days over the coming week may reach 4 to 6 days. Local residents are advised to minimize outings during the hotter midday to afternoon hours, take precautions against heat and keep cool, and guard against heatstroke and heat exhaustion.
