Recently, the observation meeting for Class I mechanized supporting construction of tunnels was successfully held at the construction site of the China Railway 11th Bureau Project Department in Section 2 of the Xicheng Railway (Gansu-Qinghai Section), marking that the intelligent construction of railway tunnels has achieved new results in the construction of the Xicheng Railway project.
The Xicheng Railway is an important part of the Lanzhou (Xining)-Guangzhou corridor from Lanzhou and Xining to Guangzhou in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. The line starts from Xining Station in Xining City, Qinghai Province, passes through parts of Qinghai, Gansu, and Sichuan Provinces, and connects to Chengdu East Station in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province.
It is understood that since the start of construction of the Gansu-Qinghai section of the Xicheng Railway project, the construction units have been organized to establish special working groups and research teams, continuously exploring supporting construction technologies for large machinery and equipment such as three-boom rock drilling jumbos (or cantilever roadheaders), arch installation trolleys, wet spraying manipulators, and anchor drilling rigs in high-altitude and severe cold environments. The Class I mechanized supporting mode for double-track main tunnels has been matured, and linkage among key equipment has been achieved; construction methods, procedures, and parameters for large machinery supporting construction have been standardized, and a differentiated management model for large machinery construction teams has been established, achieving fewer personnel in tunnel operations, shortening the time workers are exposed to exposed surrounding rock, improving the mechanization level of operating procedures, and effectively reducing safety risks in tunnel construction.
