Li Qiang said that the ECRL project is not merely a transport trunk line, but will also play an important role in promoting development, creating jobs and improving people's livelihoods. China is ready to work hand in hand with Malaysia to make the ECRL a road to prosperity and happiness that truly benefits the people. China is also ready to actively explore with Malaysia the connection of the ECRL with the China-Laos and China-Thailand railways, to better advance the building of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, and to play a greater role in enhancing regional connectivity and deepening the building of the ASEAN Community.

Anwar said that the ECRL project connects the east and west coasts of Malaysia and is of great significance to promoting Malaysia's economic and social development. He thanked Chinese enterprises for cooperating with local Malaysian enterprises to advance this important project. He expressed confidence that with the joint efforts of Malaysia and China, and with the help of "China speed" and advanced technology, the ECRL project will be completed as soon as possible, injecting strong impetus into the development of Malaysia and regional countries.

Afterwards, the two premiers jointly pushed the lever to officially launch the construction of the Gombak station.

Wu Zhenglong attended the above activities.

The East Coast Rail Link starts from Kota Bharu in the north, runs south to Kuantan and then turns west to Port Klang, with a total length of 665 kilometers. It is currently the largest single transport infrastructure project undertaken overseas by a Chinese enterprise.
