On the morning of June 19, the "Huancheng" (meaning embracing and guarding the city) shield machine was successfully launched for the right line of the section from Bao'an Park Station to Liutang Station on Shenzhen Metro Line 15, marking that Line 15 has officially entered a new construction stage. This is also the first shield machine launched in the fifth phase of the Shenzhen Metro project.

Shenzhen Metro Line 15 is another major project jointly built by Shenzhen Metro Group and PowerChina. As a key line supporting the development of western Shenzhen, Line 15 has a total length of 32.2 km and includes 24 stations and 1 depot. Once completed, it will greatly improve the rail transit service level in areas such as Shekou, Gaoxin North, Liuxiandong, Bao'an Center, Xili, and the Future Science and Technology City, and is of great significance to regional development. At present, 23 work sites along the entire line have entered the substantive construction stage; greening relocation is 90% complete, traffic diversion for the main phase is 85% complete, and the retaining structure is 35% complete. Among them, five stations—Tinghailu Station, Xibu Wuliu, Tielu Gongyuan, Dongbin Road Station, and Chanwan Zhong Station—have fully entered the main structure construction stage.

The Baoliu section of Line 15, which achieved the shield launch target this time, has a total length of 1,797 meters, 90% of which is full-face hard rock. The shield tunneling passes through Line 12, a jointly built utility tunnel, Liutang Park, and other important structures and buildings, and the surrounding environment and geological conditions are complex. To ensure the smooth launch of the shield machine, Shenzhen Metro Group, together with the construction contractor PowerChina Southern Company, coordinated carefully and organized meticulously, successfully completing various tasks including traffic diversion, site survey, shield review and access approval, and handling of construction procedures in security protection zones, ensuring that the first shield machine of Line 15 was launched on schedule and safely.

The launch of the "Huancheng" shield machine has pressed the "accelerator key" for the construction of Line 15. After this shield launch, other stations along the line will successively enter the main structure and shield construction stages.
