On June 18, the Taohuaping Tunnel, a controlling project of the north-south extension line of the Guizhou Wengma Railway constructed by China Railway 20th Bureau, was successfully holed through, laying the foundation for subsequent track-laying and girder-erection work.

The Taohuaping Tunnel, with a total length of 2,841 meters, is the tunnel with the most complex geology, the greatest construction difficulty, and the highest geological risk along the entire line. The Wengma Railway runs from Weng'an in the north to Machangping in Fuquan in the south, and is an important corridor for the consolidated transport of phosphate ore, silica, coal, and other goods in Qiannan Prefecture, Guizhou.
