On June 18, the main bridge of the Jingzao Bridge, part of the third phase of the Chaoshan Ring Expressway project, was successfully closed with "millimeter-level" precision, achieving full connectivity of the bridge and successfully "joining hands" between the cities of Shantou and Jieyang on the north and south banks of the Rongjiang South River.

The Jingzao Bridge project has a total length of 3,110 meters, and the main bridge is the controlling engineering component of the project, with a total length of 1,793 meters. The main bridge is designed as a cable-stayed bridge with a steel-concrete composite girder in a semi-floating system with two towers and two cable planes, crossing the Rongjiang South River.

Among these features, the cross-section of the tower columns is designed in a diamond shape, and the city flower of Shantou, the "Golden Phoenix Flower," and the city flower of Jieyang, the "Lotus," are extracted as design elements. Through an evolving design based on the combination of petal forms, the "two flowers" blooming symbolize that "Shantou" and "Jieyang" share the same origin, with flowers blooming to connect the cities.

"In the next stage, the Jingzao Bridge project will complete the construction of ancillary facilities such as bridge deck guardrails, bridge deck paving, electromechanical systems, and lighting, and is expected to be ready for traffic by the end of this year," said Luo Huanpeng, director of the Jingzao Bridge Construction Management Office.
