On June 16, the shield machine for the right line of the shield-driven tunnel section from Weizishan Station to Cailonglu Station (both are project names) of the Phase I project of Jinan Rail Transit Line 8 was successfully received, marking the completion of the **double-line breakthrough of the shield-driven tunnel section** of Line 8, one month ahead of the schedule set at the beginning of the year.

The shield-driven tunnel section completed this time is about 700 meters long, and the strata it passes through are mainly moderately weathered limestone, with uneven rock hardness and softness and a maximum strength of about 80 MPa. In some areas, the rock is severely weathered and densely dotted with karst caves. To ensure smooth shield tunneling, the construction participants continuously strengthened geological monitoring and forecasting, promptly optimized the shield tunneling parameters, and prevented deviation of the shield machine's attitude.

From the launch of the shield on April 16 to its reception on June 16, the tunneling task of about 700 meters was completed in only two months, with an average daily tunneling index of 11.7 meters and a monthly tunneling index of 350 meters.

At present, the construction of Line 8 is being comprehensively advanced. Shield construction in the underground section has completed 58% of the total task, and one underground station has been topped out; girder erection, track laying, and the four-electric systems construction in the elevated section are proceeding simultaneously; and the depot construction is steadily advancing.
