Recently, the on-site meeting for advancing the construction of projects funded by the 2024 central budget investment for ecological protection and restoration in key areas of Guizhou Province was held in Huangping County. The meeting reported on the progress of central budget investment projects for ecological protection and restoration in key areas from 2021 to 2023, and made arrangements for the timeline of advancing the 2024 central budget investment projects.
　　The meeting pointed out that since the launch and implementation of the major projects for ecological protection and restoration in key areas and the major projects for supporting systems for ecological protection and restoration (referred to as the "Dual Major Projects"), Guizhou has taken into overall consideration the integrity of the ecosystem and the sustainability of economic and social development. The projects have generally been advanced according to schedule and have achieved certain results.
　　The meeting required that forestry authorities at all levels throughout the province fully understand the importance of the central budget investment projects for ecological protection and restoration in key areas, promote scientific national land greening and strengthen comprehensive rocky desertification control through project advancement, further strengthen the application of the concept of systematic governance, explore scientific and effective methods combining artificial restoration with natural recovery, and strive to ensure that each area built is successfully completed and each area treated is successfully restored. Forestry authorities at all levels throughout the province should accelerate the progress of project construction and fund payments for previous years, accelerate the completion acceptance of projects, accelerate the preliminary planning of 2024 investment projects, and strengthen the implementation of later-stage project management and maintenance, so as to effectively ensure the orderly advancement of the "Dual" projects on schedule.
