On June 16, with the precise placement of the final precast box girder, the box girder erection works for the Kunlun River Grand Bridge—the longest bridge in the Inner Mongolia section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway—were successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for subsequent bridge deck ancillary works and track-laying construction, and creating favorable conditions for the smooth opening of the entire Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway.
The Kunlun River Grand Bridge is located within the territory of Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, with a total length of 11.054 kilometers and a total of 319 box girders, making it the longest bridge within the Inner Mongolia section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway. As an important component of the Beijing-Lanzhou Corridor in the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, the Inner Mongolia section of the Baotou-Yinchuan High-Speed Railway has a main line length of 402 kilometers and a design speed of 250 kilometers per hour. Once the entire project is completed, travel time from Baotou to Yinchuan will be shortened from the current 6 hours to about 2 hours.
