On June 15, as the cutterhead of the "Quansu No. 2" earth pressure balance shield machine slowly rotated, the shield machine for the right-line tunnel of the section from Jingyi Weiliu Station to Jinan Station in Work Zone 5 of Jinan Rail Transit Line 6 was launched. The project is invested in by Jinan Rail Transit Group, contracted for general construction by China Railway Shangtou, and constructed by China Railway Tunnel Group, marking the full-scale start of shield tunneling for the right line of the Jingji section of Jinan Rail Transit Line 6.

The right line of the Jingji section has a total length of 883.018 m and is located in Tianqiao District, Jinan. After departing from Jingyi Weiliu Station, the alignment runs underground along Jingyi Road. The geology of the section mainly consists of silty clay, completely weathered diorite, and strongly weathered diorite, with small amounts of moderately weathered diorite and gravel-bearing silty clay.

To ensure the smooth launch of the shield machine, the project team not only formulated a safe and efficient support plan based on expert review, but also carefully designed a dedicated scheme for launching with a steel sleeve to meet the challenges. In overcoming numerous difficulties such as long transport routes and difficult assembly, the project team made unremitting efforts, providing solid technical support for the shield launch and tunneling. The carefully prepared hoisting plan ensured the safe transfer of the shield machine to the launch site, while the steel sleeve launch scheme fully took into account its special characteristics and ensured the smooth progress of the launch process. From launch to tunneling, every step underwent careful review and detailed planning to ensure safe and efficient construction. These efforts not only laid a solid foundation for starting the shield machine, but also provided reliable guarantees for the project to fully open up construction work faces.

The successful launch of the "Quansu No. 2" shield machine marks that the construction of Jinan Rail Transit Line 6 has entered a new stage, injecting new momentum into the development of Jinan rail transit.
