On the 15th, Lechang in Shaoguan, northern Guangdong, was affected by persistent heavy rainfall, causing waterlogging of varying degrees in the urban area of Lechang. Some houses were flooded and people were trapped. Various units and departments carried out rescue operations "at top speed," making every effort to protect the safety of people's lives and property and relocating over a hundred trapped people.

According to the Shaoguan Municipal Meteorological Bureau, from 20:00 on June 15 to 8:00 on June 16, the citywide average rainfall was 34.6 mm, with the maximum precipitation recorded at the Xiaoshan Village meteorological observation station in Wushan, Lechang, at 135.4 mm. As of 8:00 on June 16, water levels at four rivers in the city had exceeded the warning line.
"They were more anxious than we were. One young soldier was so focused on saving people that he accidentally fell from the boat into the water." In the machine tool factory dormitory area of Chengdong Community, Lecheng Subdistrict, the rescued residents kept expressing their gratitude.
It is reported that at the time, many residential buildings in the dormitory area were inundated, with the water depth already above chest level. Multiple elderly people and children on the second floor and above urgently needed to be relocated. As the water level rose bit by bit, the rescue volunteer service team immediately launched rescue operations, using rubber boats to reach the ground floor of the trapped residents' homes and relocating each person to safety one by one. After five round trips, they successfully relocated 13 trapped residents.
At the same time, in various communities of the subdistrict, emergency volunteer service teams carried out "knock-on-door operations" separately. They checked on key populations living in dilapidated houses and low-lying areas, promptly relocated people from dangerous areas, and paid close attention to special groups such as those on minimum living allowances, the "five guarantees" recipients, elderly people living alone, and left-behind children.
According to statistics, as of the morning of the 15th, a total of 115 people had been relocated in the urban area of Lechang, with no casualties. Lechang will continue to closely monitor rainfall and water conditions and strengthen patrols and control of hidden danger points such as waterlogged spots, low-lying households, and dilapidated housing households.
