China Deep Foundation Engineering Network Scientific and technological innovation is the core of developing new quality productive forces, and talent is the foundation of innovation. General Secretary Xi Jinping has proposed smoothing the virtuous cycle of education, science and technology, and talent, so as to cultivate urgently needed talent for developing new quality productive forces and promoting high-quality development. Against this backdrop, the "Foundation College" was initiated by the China Foundation Technology Innovation Intellectual Property Alliance and jointly founded by the Institute of Foundation Engineering of the China Academy of Building Research and Beijing Jinshan Foundation Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd. With the mission of "cultivating talent, developing experts, serving the industry, and benefiting society," the college is committed to developing a new generation of leading professionals in foundation engineering.

On May 24, the Foundation College held the official opening of its first Advanced Research Flagship Class. The course lasted two days and was attended by 50 trainees from Beijing, Shaanxi, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong, Shandong, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Hubei, Chongqing, Fujian, and other regions, covering fields such as survey, design, construction, and equipment manufacturing.

On the morning of the opening day, under the chairmanship of Dr. Zheng Wenhua, Deputy Director of the Science, Technology and Strategic Development Research Center of the Institute of Foundation Engineering, China Academy of Building Research, the trainees attended a class meeting. They introduced their professional backgrounds and learning motivations, deepening mutual understanding. Trainee Cao Gaojun was unanimously elected class monitor, responsible for organizing and coordinating activities within the class and laying the foundation for class development.

Afterwards, the trainees collectively visited the China Academy of Building Research Digital Exhibition Hall, the achievement exhibition hall and laboratories of the Institute of Foundation Engineering, gaining an in-depth understanding of the history, scientific research achievements, and **technical research directions of the China Academy of Building Research, and experiencing the profound impact of modern technology on the field of geotechnical engineering.

In the afternoon, the opening ceremony was held in the ** conference room on the second floor of the new main building of the China Academy of Building Research. He encouraged the trainees to find their direction here and, through learning and the guidance of teachers, discover a better version of themselves. He also hoped that the trainees would remember their mission, shoulder their responsibilities, and strive for the high-quality development of the construction industry.

In this course, Professor Li Guangxin lectured on "Dialectics of Geotechnical Engineering," Academician Gong Xiaonan lectured on "Reflections on Geotechnical Engineering Thinking," and Director Gao Wensheng lectured on "Exploration of the Development Direction of Foundation Engineering Technology under Changing Market Conditions." Through expert lectures and trainee interaction, rich knowledge was imparted. After the course, the trainees said they had gained a great deal.

The Advanced Research Flagship Class is set as a two-year course of study, with two days of intensive teaching one weekend each month. Through various teaching modes such as classroom instruction, engineering observation, project diagnosis, resource matching, trainee mutual visits, and industry seminars, it will provide trainees with systematic professional knowledge training in geotechnical engineering and promote in-depth exchanges and resource matching with experts and scholars.
