On June 6, the shield on the right line of the Tiantongyuan Station–Dongsanlu Station section of Bid 11 of Beijing Metro Line 13 successfully launched, marking the project's formal entry into the dual-line shield tunneling stage.

China Construction Eighth Engineering Division Rail Transit Company is undertaking the Line 13A Bid 11 project at Tiantongyuan Station, which comprises one station and one section (Tiantongyuan Station and the Tiantongyuan Station–Dongsanlu Station section). Once completed, the project will address the insufficient transport capacity of Beijing's core north-south corridor in the western part of the city and alleviate passenger accumulation at Xierqi Station and transfer pressure at Xizhimen Station.

The project department planned meticulously and deployed thoroughly, completing all preparatory work before launch and measures for crossing risk sources in advance. Since the shield project was initiated, the project has successively completed a series of key tasks, including in-factory supervision of shield machine manufacturing, shield machine entry, assembly and commissioning, installation and commissioning of ancillary facilities, and planning and delivery of ancillary materials, laying a solid foundation for the smooth second launch of the shield.
