At 19:00 on June 8, the right tube of the Lianfeng Tunnel on the Daguan-Yongshan Expressway construction project in Yunnan—a major corridor from Yunnan into Sichuan—was successfully holed through. This marks another breakthrough following the holing-through of the left tube of the Lianfeng Tunnel on May 23, and signifies the full holing-through of the Lianfeng Tunnel on the Dayong Expressway after more than three years of construction.

The full holing-through of the Lianfeng Tunnel lays the foundation for the entire line's goal of opening to traffic on October 1 this year. Once the entire line opens, it will end the history of Yongshan County in Zhaotong City, Yunnan, having no expressway access, achieve the goal of expressway access in every county of Zhaotong City, and improve travel conditions for residents of six townships in the two counties of Daguan and Yongshan.
