Recently, the first diaphragm wall panel of the civil engineering works for the intermediate ventilation shaft between Chenjiazhen Station and Dongtan Station on the Chongming Line of the rail transit system, constructed by Hongrun Construction Group Co., Ltd., was successfully lowered into the trench, marking that the intermediate ventilation shaft between Chenjiazhen Station and Dongtan Station has fully entered the construction stage.

The intermediate ventilation shaft between Chenjiazhen Station and Dongtan Station is located on the east side of Liulan Road and is a three-story underground structure. The net dimensions of the ventilation shaft structure are 41.0 m (length) × 23.2 m (width). The diaphragm wall is 1.2 m thick with a wall depth of 59.8 m; the reinforcement cage of a single diaphragm wall panel weighs up to 104.3 tons, and the excavation depth of the foundation pit is 29.5 m. This ventilation shaft will undertake the shield tunneling task of a total of 5.9 km for the later sections from Chenjiazhen Station to the intermediate ventilation shaft and from Dongtan Station to the intermediate ventilation shaft.
