On May 29, the shield tunnel on the left line of the section from Chuzhou Road Station to Hefei Road Station (referred to as the "Chu-He section") of Qingdao Metro Line 5 was successfully completed. The right line of this tunnel had already been completed 35 days ahead of schedule on May 6, marking the achievement of the dual-line completion goal for the Chu-He section and laying a solid foundation for the on-schedule opening and operation of Qingdao Metro Line 5.

During tunnel construction, the project team innovatively applied mud filter-press separation equipment, enabling the effective separation of slag and clean water from the mud that was originally difficult to treat after filter-press separation, thus solving the environmental protection and efficiency problems in the process of slag transport and disposal.
Qingdao Metro Line 5 has a total length of approximately 32.6 kilometers and comprises 27 stations, connecting 8 metro lines. It is a backbone rail transit line in the main urban area. Once the entire line is completed, it will greatly enhance traffic efficiency within the main urban area, provide citizens with more convenient travel options, shorten distances across the city, strengthen internal regional connections, and promote the rapid development of the urban economy.
