At 9:58 on May 30, the **pile foundation drilling at Pingxiang East Station on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway in Guangxi (hereinafter referred to as the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway) began, marking the start of station building construction along the entire line and the project's full entry into the post-station construction phase.

The Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway began full-scale construction in July 2022. The main line is 81.52 kilometers long, designed for a speed of 250 kilometers per hour, and is expected to be completed and opened to traffic in 2025. At present, 98.86% of the subgrade earthwork, 92.85% of the bridges, and 97% of the tunnels on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway have been completed.

Three new station buildings are being built on the Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway, namely Ningming East Station, Longzhou Station, and Pingxiang East Station.

The Pingxiang East Station building has a total construction area of 7,980.26 square meters and a maximum gathering capacity of 1,100 people, with a station yard of 3 platforms and 5 tracks; the Ningming East Station building has a total construction area of 4,781.85 square meters and a maximum gathering capacity of 400 people, with a station yard of 2 platforms and 4 tracks; the Longzhou Station building has a total construction area of 7,998.54 square meters and a maximum gathering capacity of 800 people, with a station yard of 2 platforms and 4 tracks.

"As high-speed railway stations serve as the gateway to a city, we have incorporated distinctive local cultural elements into the design. For example, the facade of Pingxiang East Station references the image of the Friendship Pass city gate, symbolizing the 'Open City and Southern Border Pass.'

The station building's eaves draw on the multi-story architectural form of Friendship Pass, and the facade adopts a layered linear configuration, which both interprets profound historical memory and demonstrates the charm of fashionable aesthetics."

According to reports, the station building construction uses advanced technologies such as BIM and automated intelligent monitoring, and adopts green and environmentally friendly intelligent spray dust-reduction technology to achieve energy saving, land saving, water saving, material saving, and environmental protection.

The Chongzuo-Pingxiang section of the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway passes through border areas such as Longzhou County, an important border defense town, and Pingxiang City, the "southern gateway of the motherland."

After the line is completed and opened to traffic, the Nanning-Pingxiang high-speed railway will achieve full-line operation, and the railway travel time from Nanning to Pingxiang will be only more than one hour, forming an important international transport corridor from China to ASEAN. It is of great significance for improving border transportation infrastructure, enhancing connectivity between Guangxi and Southeast Asia and other regions, helping Guangxi integrate into the "Belt and Road," and accelerating the construction of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.
