On May 29, the main structure of the Phase II construction project of the Aerospace Information University, undertaken by China Railway 14th Bureau Group, was fully capped, laying a solid foundation for completion and delivery within the year.
The Aerospace Information University is hosted by the Shandong Provincial People's Government and included in the Ministry of Education's "14th Five-Year Plan" for higher education institutions. It is China's first higher education institution named after "Aerospace Information."
The Phase II construction project has a total floor area of approximately 485,000 square meters and is planned to include 25 individual buildings. The Group is mainly responsible for the construction of three individual buildings: the School of Remote Sensing Science and Technology, the School of Photonics and Optical Engineering, and the School of Electronics and Integrated Circuits. The project is a key project in Shandong Province and Jinan City.
Since entering the site on January 20, the project team has continuously optimized the construction organization plan and increased investment in resources and elements. During the peak construction period in April and May, more than 25,000 workers were deployed, setting off a construction boom and ensuring all-weather operation and the completion of major milestones on schedule.

They built an integrated "smart construction site management platform," creating data integration systems such as facial recognition, intelligent safety broadcasting, site environment monitoring, and tower crane visualization monitoring. They also used BIM technology for drawing review, schedule simulation, and visual disclosure, optimizing construction organization and resource allocation and improving the project's intelligent management capabilities. They advanced refined management and adopted a "BIM detailing + CNC machining" model to optimize the rebar processing procedure, achieving an overall rebar utilization rate of 99.5%.
In the decoration and finishing stage, they will increase the use of new technologies and new materials, using porous shale bricks with low water absorption, high strength, good wear resistance, and good thermal insulation to replace traditional exterior wall insulation materials, further improving project quality and accelerating construction progress.

After completion, the university will be mainly used for scientific research in optoelectronic engineering, aerospace, and applied technology, and will be an important part of Jinan's Science and Innovation Corridor and the industry-university-research sector.
