Recently, the main works of the Xiquan and Yemuxia Tunnel Quality Improvement and Upgrade Project on G248 Line, implemented by the Gannan Highway Development Center, have been fully completed, and the tunnels have reopened to traffic in an orderly manner. The upgraded tunnels have taken on a completely new look, with bright lighting, clear signage, and smooth, comfortable road surfaces. Vehicles pass through the tunnels at a steady speed in good order.

The Xiquan and Yemuxia tunnels on G248 Line form an important tourism corridor linking Kangle County of Linxia Prefecture to the north and Yeliguan Town of Lintan County in Gannan Prefecture to the south. The implementation of the quality improvement and upgrade works on the two tunnels provides significant transport support for improving tunnel traffic capacity, optimizing traffic conditions along the tourism corridor, facilitating the circulation of regional development, and boosting the integration of the cultural and tourism industry.
The project was scheduled to run from February 25 to July 23. To support the creation of the Yeliguan 5A-level scenic area and ensure that the Xiquan and Yemuxia tunnel quality improvement and upgrade project reopened to traffic ahead of schedule by the end of May, the Gannan Highway Development Center, in accordance with the requirements of higher authorities and the local government, optimized the allocation of various resources while ensuring quality, safety, and progress. It worked to a reverse schedule and advanced milestone by milestone, continuously refining the construction plan during construction, rationally deploying personnel, materials, and machinery, and strictly controlling construction techniques. All participating units worked continuously, completing tasks including tunnel pavement slab replacement and overlay, flexible protection at tunnel portals, replacement of electromechanical facilities inside the tunnels, tunnel painting, and improvement of signs and markings, thereby successfully achieving the goal of reopening the project to traffic by the end of May.
