On June 4, the China National Space Administration released a series of images taken by the Chang'e-6 lander after landing on the far side of the Moon, including images of the area near the landing site captured by the landing camera during descent and images of the landing point captured by the panoramic camera. The relevant image data was transmitted back via the Queqiao-2 relay satellite, and the images were processed and obtained by the ground application system.

Image 1 taken by the Chang'e-6 lander's landing camera

Image 1 was taken shortly after the landing camera was turned on. The image shows that the lower-middle and right portions of the photographed far-side area contain multiple craters with diameters of more than ten kilometers, and the upper-middle portion of the photographed far-side area is a dark basalt distribution region.

Image 2 taken by the Chang'e-6 lander's landing camera

Image 2 was taken by the landing camera during descent. The image shows that the photographed far-side area contains a large number of bright-colored craters.

Image 3 taken by the Chang'e-6 lander's landing camera

Image 3 was taken by the landing camera after the lander made a safe landing. The image shows that the bottom of the lander is relatively flat, with a small number of bright-colored rocks distributed around it.

Image taken by the Chang'e-6 lander's panoramic camera

This image was produced by mosaicking color images taken by the panoramic camera of the lunar surface on the north side of the landing site before the Chang'e-6 surface sampling. At the top of the image is Chaffee Crater north of the landing site, and at the bottom of the image are the landing legs and lunar soil that was uplifted by impact compression during landing.
