At 10 a.m. on June 1, as the lower chord of the first block of the main bridge was steadily lifted and lowered onto the side-span support, construction of the first segment of the steel truss of the main bridge of the Lingli Bridge project in Nanning, undertaken by China Construction Road & Bridge Group, officially began, marking a breakthrough in the construction of Lingli Bridge.

It is reported that the smooth construction of this first main-bridge component has created favorable conditions for subsequent work on the bridge deck, web members, upper chords and other surfaces. The Lingli Bridge project has now entered a critical攻坚 stage: all cast-in-place box girders have been completed, and the bridge deck crash barriers are 92% complete, expected to be finished in late June 2024; steel truss fabrication is 44.3% complete, with upper chords, diagonal web members, bridge deck panels, cross beams and other members successively arriving on site for pre-assembly, with the main bridge closure planned for late December 2024.

Once completed, the project will open up traffic across the north and south banks of the Yongjiang River in Lingli Town, Qingxiu District, Nanning, helping to strengthen transport links between Lingli Town and its surroundings, boost investment promotion and rural revitalization, and promote economic and social development in Qingxiu District.
