Recently, the first arch rib segment of the Machang River Grand Bridge of the Guizhou Expressway Group PPP project—the G7522 Guiyang–Beihai Expressway Guiyang–Pingtang (Guizhou–Guangxi border) section project (abbreviated as Guiping Expressway)—was successfully hoisted, marking that the superstructure construction of the bridge has entered a substantive stage.

　　The Machang River Grand Bridge is a controlling project of the Guiping Expressway. Located in Machanghe Township, Guiding County, it is a half-through concrete-filled steel tubular truss arch bridge with a main span of 260 meters. The entire bridge uses 8,247.3 tons of steel, and the main arch rib consists of 28 segments. The arch rib of this ** segment hoisting is 20.77 meters long, 3.6 meters wide, and 6.6 meters high, weighing about 110 tons.

　　During the construction of the Machang River Grand Bridge, the Guiping Supervision Office discussed and studied the hoisting plan multiple times, strictly reviewed the safety technical measures and special construction plans during the hoisting process, and ensured compliance with mandatory standards. At the same time, the Supervision Office strictly controlled the quality of raw materials and supervised the installation process of steel strands and other aspects, effectively ensuring installation quality.

　　The Machang River Bridge is adjacent to the Huajia Reservoir and located on a tributary of the Luobei River, spanning a deep V-shaped canyon, with a height difference of more than 200 meters between the canyon bottom and the bridge deck. Due to site constraints, a hoisting site could not be built under the bridge, so the arch rib segments could only be lifted from the deck of the approach bridge on the Guiyang side, which increased the difficulty of hoisting. After review and approval by the Guiping Supervision Office, the construction method combining swing shifting with cable saddle transverse movement was ultimately adopted. By optimizing the hoisting sequence, rationally utilizing the construction site, minimizing interference with the buckle cables, and using measures such as an intelligent cable hoisting system, the arch rib segments were finally hoisted safely and smoothly to the designated positions.

　　The Guiping Expressway project starts in Wudang District (Yangchang Town), Guiyang City, and ends at Yunyangguan (Guizhou–Guangxi border), Pingtang County, connecting to the Guangxi Tian'e (Guizhou–Guangxi border)–Beihai Expressway. The route has a total length of 174.018 kilometers, adopts a two-way six-lane design, and has a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour.
