Recently, the main pier cap of the Yuhang Canal Bridge project was successfully poured, marking a breakthrough and milestone progress in the project's bridge construction!

The project is located in Yuhang District, involving Renhe Subdistrict. The design starting point is at the intersection of Dongxi Avenue and Liangtang Line. The route extends westward, crossing over the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, and a new full-width double-deck bridge is being built on the north side of the existing canal bridge. The endpoint is at the intersection of Dongxi Avenue and Wufu Road. The project aims to complete the main works by the end of December 2025.

The project route has a total length of 1.01 km. The upper level of the bridge cross-section is an expressway, while the lower level consists of a ground-level dual-direction six-lane roadway plus non-motorized vehicle lanes and sidewalks. It is being constructed to the standard of a dual-direction six-lane Class I highway with urban road functions at a design speed of 80 km/h. Upon completion, the project will effectively connect other key nodes of the Hangzhou Middle Ring Road, helping to improve Hangzhou's extensive transportation network.

According to statistics, the Yuhang Canal Bridge project has a total of 40 pier caps, all constructed using a one-time pouring process. The main pier cap is a critical load-bearing component that transfers the steel structure load of the main bridge to the pile foundation, making the successful pouring of the cap crucial.

To ensure the successful completion of the cap pouring, the District Transportation Engineering Construction Service Center planned ahead and implemented each procedure in strict accordance with construction standardization requirements to ensure overall construction quality.

The successful completion of the cap construction marks the beginning of substructure construction for the Yuhang Canal Bridge project, laying a solid foundation for achieving the milestone targets of this key control project.
