On June 1, the right tube of the Chenjiapingzi Tunnel on the expressway from Ludian County to Qiaojia County in Zhaotong City surpassed 1,000 meters of excavation, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent breakthrough of the tunnel.

The section undertaken by the Civil Engineering Division 4 of the Lu-Qiao Expressway comprises a total of 10 single-tube tunnels with a combined length of 17,963 meters. The right tube of the Chenjiapingzi Tunnel is 1,927 meters long; the tunnel's geological conditions are complex, construction is difficult, and technical requirements are high. In particular, where construction reached the 800–950 meter range, the surrounding rock was relatively fractured and serious block falling occurred at the crown. The project department organized scientifically and carried out standardized construction, and in light of actual site conditions adopted methods such as short advance, weak blasting, strong support, and early ring closure to advance efficiently.

In addition to the Chenjiapingzi Tunnel, which has now passed the 1,000-meter mark, the other nine tunnels are also progressing in an orderly manner. As of now, the left tube of the Baogunao Tunnel has reached 927 meters, and both the left and right tubes of the Hongmanao Tunnel have exceeded 700 meters. The construction party strictly follows standardized operation requirements, optimizes construction techniques, and strengthens quality control, laying a solid foundation for the successful completion of the entire project through successive breakthroughs in milestone tasks.

It is understood that the Lu-Qiao Expressway is the most convenient corridor connecting Zhaoyang District, Ludian County, and Qiaojia County in Zhaotong City, and is also an important vehicle for northeastern Yunnan Province to build a comprehensive transportation network and to actively integrate into and serve the national development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt. Once completed, it will facilitate travel for the people along the route and is of great significance for consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation, comprehensively advancing rural revitalization, and promoting urban-rural integration and coordinated regional development.
