On May 24, 2024, the Ministry of Water Resources issued Announcement No. 9 of 2024, approving the release of the water conservancy industry standard "Specification for Drafting Water Conservancy Technical Standards," which will take effect on August 24, 2024.

The "Specification for Drafting Water Conservancy Technical Standards" (SL/T 1—2024) was revised on the basis of the 2014 version. It consists of 9 chapters and 8 appendices, and its main technical content includes the determination of standard names and scope of application, the technical content of standards and requirements for their expression, requirements for the hierarchical structure, layout format, and drafting rules of standards, requirements for drafting clause explanations, and requirements for drafting partial revisions. The standard applies to the drafting of water conservancy technical standards for engineering construction categories such as general, survey, planning, design, construction and installation, supervision, acceptance, operation and maintenance, quality and evaluation, safety and supervision, monitoring and forecasting, materials and instruments and equipment, and testing and inspection for water conservancy and hydropower projects.

The "Specification for Drafting Water Conservancy Technical Standards" is a standard for drafting standards. It plays an important guiding role in improving the quality of drafting water conservancy technical standards and promoting comprehensive quality and efficiency improvement in water conservancy standardization work. It is conducive to ensuring the production of high-quality, high-level water conservancy technical standards, promoting users' correct understanding and use of standards, advancing standard implementation and widespread application, and fully leveraging the guiding, leading, driving, and foundational role of water conservancy technical standards in accelerating the development of new quality productive forces in water conservancy and solidly promoting high-quality development of water conservancy.
