Recently, the 15th bid section of the Shanghai Municipal Railway Airport Link Line has reached a new construction milestone. With the successful connection of the final component, the main steel truss girder bridge of the Dongzou Double-Track Grand Bridge was successfully erected after 70 days of construction work.

The construction scope of the 15th bid section includes the Zhangjialugang Grand Bridge, the Dongzou Line 1 and Line 2 Grand Bridges, and the Dongzou Double-Track Grand Bridge. The Dongzou Double-Track Grand Bridge has a total length of 2,013.2 meters and comprises 20 spans of 32-meter simply supported girders, 24 spans of 24-meter simply supported girders, 3 continuous girder bridges, and 1 steel truss girder bridge. As one of the controlling works of the Dongzou Double-Track Grand Bridge, the steel truss girder bridge under construction is an all-steel structure, adopting the construction technique of factory fabrication of components followed by on-site hoisting and bolted assembly. The bridge spans the Beiheng River, with a span of 114 meters and a total weight of 2,400 tons.
Since the main steel truss girder erection began on March 12, under the overall deployment and advance organization of Shanghai Shentie, the project team has overcome difficulties such as the narrow site and the high safety risks of construction over a navigable river channel. The team scientifically prepared the construction plan, strengthened on-site resource allocation, and improved safety control measures to ensure that girder erection proceeded safely, in a standardized manner, and efficiently.

Before hoisting the steel truss girders, a model was built for each member to calculate its center of gravity. Through the design and arrangement of support points, lifting points, and rigging, it was ensured that the hoisting posture of each member basically matched its installation posture, thereby reducing the workload and risk hazards of adjustments during high-altitude construction.
During the hoisting of the steel truss girders, precise calculations were made for the selection and positioning of the member hoisting equipment to ensure that lifting and in-air alignment were completed accurately in a single operation, achieving stable and controlled quality and safety throughout the entire main steel truss girder erection process.

The Airport Link Line has a total length of 68.6 kilometers and passes through three administrative districts: Minhang, Xuhui, and Pudong New Area. The line has 9 stations in total, and trains can reach a maximum operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour. Once the project is completed, the travel time between the two major comprehensive transportation hubs of Hongqiao and Pudong can be controlled at around 40 minutes, with transfers to multiple existing and under-construction rail transit lines, facilitating travel for residents and passengers along the line. At the same time, it will further enhance the radiating role of the Pudong and Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hubs in the Yangtze River Delta region, serve the Yangtze River Delta city cluster, and provide strong support for enhancing Shanghai's global city level and core competitiveness and for implementing the national strategy of integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta.
