To create a better living environment, the Zhengzhou Urban Management Bureau of Henan Province carried out the "Summer·Charm Zhengzhou" improvement campaign for city appearance and urban functional facilities from May to August, striving to enhance the people's sense of happiness and fulfillment.

Since the beginning of this year, the Zhengzhou Urban Management Bureau has broken through ideological constraints and solidified the core concept of serving the people within the urban management system. Taking the seasons as its thread and seizing on the different priorities of urban management in different seasons, it has acted with precision and implemented measures meticulously. Following "Spring·Beauty Zhengzhou," it launched the "Summer·Charm Zhengzhou" improvement campaign for city appearance and urban functional facilities, striving to transform urban management from rough to precise, from impetuous to steady, and from superficial to substantive.

During the implementation of the "Summer·Charm Zhengzhou" campaign, the Zhengzhou Urban Management Bureau vigorously carried out special summer environmental sanitation governance.

It strengthened cleaning, maintenance, disinfection and deodorization at key locations, increasing the frequency of cleaning, disinfection and deodorization at public toilets and garbage transfer stations; strengthened standardized mechanical road sweeping and washing operations, increasing the number of spray operations when temperatures exceed 25 degrees Celsius; strengthened environmental sanitation support around "night economy" venues, reasonably increasing the number of public toilets open 24 hours; carried out special governance of kitchen waste, strengthened control of summer roadside unlicensed vending, and deepened the purification and treatment of catering oil fume pollution.

It conducted summer flood-season safety work inspections. It implemented all flood-control responsibility systems, continued to do flood-control work well, fortified the safety defenses of rivers and lakes, carried out hazard inspections and remediation for streetlights and roadside trees, deepened safety governance of the gas market, took multiple measures to ensure the safety of peak water supply, and strengthened measures for the safe disposal and management of construction waste.

It did good work in the maintenance and upgrading of summer municipal facilities. It strengthened the inspection and handling of road defects, continuously improved the level of urban lighting management, strengthened monitoring and management of bridges and tunnels, and improved the level of road greening maintenance. It strengthened the management of outdoor advertising and shopfront signs, and continuously improved the ecological landscape of urban rivers and lakes.

It explored innovative summer convenience measures with local characteristics. It polished the "Zhengzhou calling card" of urban service stations, carried out "winter diseases treated in summer" for heating equipment, equipped shared bicycles with cooling cushions and optimized operation and maintenance management—the first batch of 9,000 cooling cushions to come online will effectively improve the summer cycling experience of residents and tourists; and it explored the setup of "pocket parking lots" and classified non-motor vehicle parking areas at locations with high parking demand.

A relevant official stated that the Zhengzhou Urban Management Bureau will make good use of the "addition, subtraction, multiplication and division" working method to comprehensively achieve the goals of "cleaning, ordering, greening and lighting" for the urban organism, raise the level of urban management, and make the city better and the people more comfortable.
