It was learned from the press conference "Guangxi Comprehensively Advancing High-Level Guangxi-Guangdong Transportation Interconnectivity" held a few days ago that Guangxi and Guangdong plan to build 27 railway and highway corridors, of which 12 have been completed, 7 are under construction, and 8 are planned. This year, several expressways, including Lianshan to Hezhou (Guangxi section), are scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic.

According to Hu Huaping, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, in terms of expressways, Guangxi and Guangdong plan to build 15 corridors. At present, 8 expressways, including Hepu to Shankou and Lingfeng to Hezhou, have been completed; 5 expressways, including Nanning to Zhanjiang and Lianshan to Hezhou, are being accelerated in construction; and the preliminary work for 2 expressways, including Bobai to Gaozhou, is being accelerated.

From an inter-provincial perspective, the focus is on serving the layout and construction of the "1 main axis, 2 corridors, 1 channel" of Guangxi-Guangdong connections within the main framework of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network (namely, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao to Chengdu-Chongqing main axis, the Western Land-Sea Corridor, the Guangzhou-Kunming Corridor, and the Erzhan Channel), meeting the needs of provinces and regions in western China such as Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, and Chongqing, as well as ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, to connect with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, advancing the formation of a new pattern of western development, promoting the accelerated building of a "comprehensive transportation grand corridor linking Guangxi and Guangdong, reaching Hong Kong and Macao, and connecting ASEAN," jointly building the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor with the Greater Bay Area at a high level, and serving the creation of a convenient market environment for the domestic and international dual circulation.

From a regional perspective, the focus is on serving the connection needs between major cities in Guangxi and the Greater Bay Area. It is planned to build 3 corridors for cities such as Guilin to connect to Guangdong via Hezhou, creating a rapid corridor from the Greater Bay Area to Guilin and Hezhou, helping to build Guilin into a world-class tourist city and supporting Hezhou in high-quality construction of the pilot demonstration zone for integration into the East; it is planned to build 5 corridors for cities such as Liuzhou to connect to Guangdong via Wuzhou, promoting the coordinated development of Liuzhou's industry with that of the Greater Bay Area, serving the construction of the Guangdong-Guangxi Cooperation Special Pilot Zone and the creation of a pilot demonstration platform for Guangxi-Guangdong integrated development, while also building a major corridor along the river to promote high-quality development of the Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt; it is planned to build 7 corridors for cities such as Nanning to connect to Guangdong via Yulin and Beihai, serving the integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into the construction of the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, promoting the integrated development of the "two bays," building the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration with high quality, and enhancing the radiating capacity of the Beibu Gulf international hub seaport.
