Recently, as the last batch of concrete was poured into the pile foundation holes, all 13 pile foundations of the south-bank main pier of the Xiaolan Waterway Bridge of the Hailong Bridge, part of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai East Reconstruction and Expansion Project (Nansha-Zhuhai section of the Guangzhou-Macau Expressway, hereinafter referred to as the "Guangzhou-Zhuhai East Reconstruction and Expansion Project"), were successfully poured and completed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent construction of the south-bank main pier cap of the Xiaolan Waterway Bridge.

The Xiaolan Waterway Bridge of the Hailong Bridge is one of the key control works of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai East Reconstruction and Expansion Project. It adopts a cable-stayed bridge structural system with prestressed concrete girders, double towers and double cable planes. The main bridge is 525 meters long in total. The main piers on the north and south banks of the bridge have a total of 26 pile foundations. The south-bank main pier consists of a pile group foundation of 13 bored cast-in-place piles, each designed with a length of 68.5 meters and a diameter of 3 meters, with an average rock-socketed depth of 34 meters, enabling the main tower to take root in the riverbed rock stratum.

According to reports, since the drilling of the first pile foundation of the bridge was completed on March 8 this year, the project team has overcome unfavorable factors such as the complex geological conditions of the Xiaolan Waterway, the flood season and extreme weather, and has closely followed the construction philosophy of "safety, high quality, service, intelligence and green development," coordinating project safety and environmental protection, quality and schedule management. In only 66 days, the team successfully completed all pile foundation construction for the south-bank main pier of the Xiaolan Waterway Bridge, with a total pouring volume of 6,842 cubic meters, completing 50% of the total progress of the main pier pile foundation construction, 30 days ahead of the planned schedule.

The completion of pile foundation pouring for the south-bank main pier of the Xiaolan Waterway Bridge of the Hailong Bridge marks key progress in the project construction and provides valuable experience for flood-season construction of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai East Reconstruction and Expansion Project. Next, taking this as an opportunity, the project will continue to consolidate the foundation for safe and environmentally friendly construction, accelerate the transition to the main pier cap construction stage, and strive to build a safe, century-lasting quality project as soon as possible.

The Guangzhou-Zhuhai East Reconstruction and Expansion Project starts at the Tanwei Interchange in Huangge Town, Nansha District, Guangzhou, passes through Huangge Town and Hengli Town in Nansha District, and Sanjiao Town, Minzhong Subdistrict, Gangkou Town, Torch Development Zone and Nanlang Subdistrict in Zhongshan City, and ends at the Zhuhai Toll Station in Nanlang Subdistrict, Cuiheng New District, Zhongshan City, with a length of about 50.4 kilometers. It is the first "six-to-ten-lane" expressway in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic across the entire line in 2027.
