During the National Day for Helping the Disabled, Shanxi carried out a number of activities to help people with disabilities embrace the world and integrate into society, and to promote the comprehensive development of programs for people with disabilities.

Shanxi carried out "online + offline" employment recruitment activities to broaden employment channels for people with disabilities.

"Shanxi attaches great importance to rehabilitation assistance for children with disabilities, and for eight consecutive years has promoted the implementation of rescue rehabilitation assistance for children with disabilities in a detailed and practical manner as a livelihood project," said Huo Hongli, vice chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation. "Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the province has invested a total of 300 million yuan in special funds from the central and provincial levels to provide rescue rehabilitation assistance to more than 40,000 children with disabilities.

At the Shanxi Provincial Cerebral Palsy Rehabilitation Hospital, the public welfare activity "Guarding the Stars, Safeguarding Together" was launched. At the event, children with autism performed on African drums to demonstrate the results of rehabilitation training, and the Shanxi Branch of PICC Life Insurance donated critical illness insurance with an insured amount of 135 million yuan, providing safety protection for children with autism aged 0 to 15 currently receiving rehabilitation services in the province and their families.

AI cognitive robot devices, dedicated transfer lifts... At the Taiyuan Workers' Cultural Palace, black-tech assistive products for people with disabilities attracted public attention.

Recently, the Shanxi Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation, the Taiyuan Municipal Transport Bureau and other units, together with the 95128 call-for-taxi platform, jointly carried out the activity "Technology Empowers Travel for People with Disabilities, Sharing a Better Life." At the site, staff explained various devices such as intelligent prosthetics to people with disabilities and helped them put them on and try them out.

Wang Xiaoli, a representative of people with disabilities and secretary-general of the Shanxi Provincial Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities, expressed the hope that through these activities, more people can understand and pay attention to the lives of people with disabilities, and that the whole society's understanding of and support for programs for people with disabilities can be enhanced. During the National Day for Helping the Disabled, at the Shanxi Taiyuan Human Resources Service Industrial Park, people with disabilities who came to participate in recruitment were inquiring about relevant matters.

It is understood that Shanxi currently has 959,500 people with disabilities holding certificates, of whom 434,800 are of working age. This recruitment activity adopted an "online + offline" model, and a job fair for private enterprises was held at the same time, collecting a total of 76 employers and more than 1,000 jobs.

The job fair site attracted more than 1,000 participants, with preliminary employment intentions reached 343 person-times, among which the number of preliminary intentions for positions for people with disabilities was as high as 137 person-times. In addition, the Shanxi Recruitment Network simultaneously set up an online recruitment platform, with the recruitment deadline of May 31, 2024.

"This concert is not only an artistic feast, but also a dialogue of the soul," said Gong Cheng, Party secretary and chairman of the Shanxi Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation. He expressed the hope that art would serve as a medium to convey the whole society's care and support for people with disabilities, showcase their artistic talents, let more people understand and pay attention to the lives and dreams of people with disabilities, and let the "cause of spring" bloom with even more brilliant radiance.
