As a large excavator broke through the last layer of rock, a dazzling beam of light shot straight into the tunnel, and the Dongshan Changda Tunnel in the Jilin section of the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway was "lit up." These were the scenes on May 11 and 15 of the successive breakthroughs of the tunnel's No. 1 inclined shaft to the portal section and No. 2 inclined shaft to the exit section. At this moment, only 415 meters remained to the breakthrough target of the Dongshan Changda Tunnel, winning valuable time for the subsequent ballastless track construction.

It is reported that the Dongshan Tunnel in Section TJ-6 of the Jilin section of the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway is located within the territory of Baishan City, Jilin Province. With a total length of 8.73 kilometers, it is a single-tube double-track tunnel equipped with two inclined shafts and two evacuation passages.

At present, the tunnel is making an all-out sprint on the remaining 415 meters of work between No. 1 and No. 2 inclined shafts, and the full breakthrough of the tunnel is expected to be achieved before August 30.

It is reported that the Shenyang-Baihe High-Speed Railway is located in eastern Liaoning Province and southern Jilin Province of China. The main line starts from Shenyang North Station, passes through seven prefecture-level cities including Shenyang, Tonghua, Baishan and Yanbian, and ends at Changbaishan Station, with a total length of 430.1 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It is an important component of the Northeast rapid railway corridor in the national medium- and long-term railway network plan, and also the main passenger transport corridor in the eastern part of Northeast China. After the project is completed and opened to traffic, the shortest travel time from Shenyang to Changbaishan will be reduced to 1.5 hours.
