On May 14, walking into Dagou Reservoir in Lijia Town, Chaotian District, Guangyuan City, workers were orderly carrying out the finishing works such as greening construction on the dam crest, improvement of the roads in the dam area, decoration of the management building, and concrete pouring of the measuring weir walls. The entire construction site presented a bustling scene of vigorous activity.

It is understood that the Dagou Reservoir Project is one of the water source projects in Chaotian District. The project is located in Xieyi Village, Lijia Town, and construction started in March 2021. It is a small (Type 1) reservoir with a total storage capacity of 1.05 million cubic meters, including the hub project and the irrigation area project. Its development task is comprehensive utilization such as agricultural irrigation and rural water supply. After completion, it will effectively solve the drinking water and farmland irrigation water problems of Wangyuanshan Community in Lijia Town and six villages (communities), namely Xieyi, Yixing, Shuiguan, Jiangjia, and Wangjiaya.

"At present, we are in the golden period for water conservancy project construction. We are seizing the project progress, making overall plans, and making every effort to ensure that reservoir construction achieves 'acceleration.'" said Yu Jingliang, the on-site person in charge of the construction unit. The reservoir irrigation canal project completed pipeline installation and ancillary construction last year, and the hub project is nearing the finishing stage, with full completion of construction planned for the end of May this year. After the reservoir is completed, it can add and improve 5,600 mu of irrigated area and solve the domestic water problem for more than 4,400 people in Lijia Town, injecting strong "water momentum" into rural revitalization.

The imminent completion and commissioning of Dagou Reservoir has excited Xiang Binren, a resident of Yixing Village, Lijia Town. "We ordinary people have been looking forward to this reservoir for many years," Xiang Binren said. After the reservoir is completed, problems in farmland irrigation, drinking water, and household cleaning can all be further solved. By then, everyone's living standards will be raised to an even higher level.

Accelerating water conservancy project construction and consolidating the foundation to benefit the people's livelihood. In recent years, Chaotian District of Guangyuan City has, in accordance with the principle of "planning a batch, implementing a batch, and reserving a batch," made every effort to advance backbone water network projects. The modern water network has been continuously densified, its circulation has become smoother, and its comprehensive benefits have continued to emerge. Up to now, Chaotian District has completed 7 reservoirs and has 3 reservoirs under construction. Among them, after the 3 reservoirs under construction are completed and put into use, they will effectively solve the production and domestic water problems of 69,100 people in Zengjia Town, Lijia Town, Lianghekou Town, Yangmu Town, and other places, and improve the quality of 16,200 mu of irrigated area. At the same time, a batch of centralized water supply projects in Zengjia Town, Datan Town, Yunwushan Town, and other places are being newly built. After completion, the water supply scale will reach 17,550 cubic meters per day, which will effectively improve the quality of domestic water supply for 109,800 people and provide a solid foundation for comprehensively promoting rural revitalization and promoting agricultural and rural economic development.
