The Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court held a press conference on the 16th.
Jiang Yaoting, member of the Party Group and Vice President of the Guangzhou Intermediate People's Court, pointed out that in recent years, Guangzhou courts have closely focused on the work theme of "justice and efficiency," deeply practiced the "Fengqiao Experience" of the new era, attached great importance to the trial of labor dispute cases, actively promoted the source governance of labor disputes, and innovatively carried out labor dispute governance featuring front-end prevention, mid-end quality improvement, and back-end consolidation. Through proactive performance of duties throughout the entire process, full-chain source governance of litigation, and all-round judicial services, they have promoted the resolution of more cases at the source, at the front end, and in substance, striving to ensure that cases are concluded and matters are settled, and that both justice and harmony prevail.
The white paper introduces that from 2021 to 2023, the two levels of courts in Guangzhou concluded a total of 57,209 labor dispute cases. The cases mainly present the following characteristics: first, the subjects of labor disputes are increasingly diverse; second, the claims in labor disputes cover a wide range; third, lawsuits to confirm labor relations account for a relatively large proportion.
The white paper also shows that from 2021 to 2023, among the labor dispute cases tried by Guangzhou courts, the number of dispute subjects such as middle- and senior-level management personnel, high-tech personnel, and over-age migrant workers increased somewhat, and their identities became increasingly diverse; the time when labor disputes arose between workers and employers was mainly concentrated in the period from six months to three years after the workers joined the company, accounting for 42.79% of the total number of cases.
