According to China Railway Seventh Group, on the afternoon of May 12, the left-line tunnel of the shield-driven section from Binhai West Station to Ninghai Road Station (referred to as the Bin-Ning section) on Tianjin Rail Transit Line Z2, constructed by China Railway Seventh Group, was completed and successfully connected with Line B1, marking that the construction of the entire Line Z2 has entered a stage of intensive efforts and decisive assault.

As one of the key projects of the city, the first phase of Tianjin Rail Transit Line Z2 has a total length of 39.268 kilometers. The shield machine for the left line of the Bin-Ning section received this time was launched at Ninghai Road Station on October 10 last year. It successively passed beneath the Xizhonghuan Interchange, crossed over and ran parallel to the tunnel of Rail Transit Line B1, and passed beneath Jinhai Lake and large underground pipelines, before steadily tunneling for 216 days to reach Binhai West Station, with a total length of 1,442.42 meters. This tunnel has successively crossed 6 strata and involved 12 risk sources, making it truly a "repository of risks" for shield tunneling. To ensure smooth shield tunneling, the project department planned in advance by establishing an acceptance team, conducting precise monitoring with full-process data tracking, implementing 24-hour duty and shift leadership, organizing multiple expert demonstrations of the plan and safety assessments, and conducting on-site simulated emergency drills. During shield construction, the project strictly adhered to the "safety gate," strictly controlled the "quality gate," and strictly controlled the "precision gate," comprehensively ensuring smooth and steady shield tunneling and successful breakthrough.

The first phase of Tianjin Rail Transit Line Z2 starts at Binhai Airport Station and ends at Beitang Station, with a total of 14 stations. The line connects Tianjin and Binhai and links the airport and railway, mainly passing through key development areas such as the Airport Economic Area, the High-tech Zone, the West District of the Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Ocean High-tech Zone, and Beitang. It is an important rail transit line connecting Tianjin's central urban area with the Binhai New Area. Once completed, it will become one of the important nodes in building the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei on Track."
