May is the festival of laborers and also a season of striving and forging ahead. The construction sites of Xuzhou's key projects are bustling everywhere: machinery is operating intensively, transport vehicles shuttle back and forth across the sites, and builders, dressed in work uniforms and wearing safety helmets, are fighting at their respective posts, achieving "acceleration" in project construction, setting off another new upsurge of construction, and interpreting the spirit of labor with their sweat.

　　Facade Renovation Project Around Wenmiao Block Launched
　　Wenmiao Block is an important part of Xuzhou's historical context. In order to optimize the coordination between the building facades along Yanheqing Road to Huanglou Park and the architectural style of Wenmiao Block, the Gulou District Historical Context Phase I and Wenmiao Block Surrounding Building Facade Renovation Project has now been launched. Facade renovation will be carried out on buildings around Wenmiao Block, Pailou Market and the 1818 commercial area, and is planned to be fully completed this year.
　　Wenmiao Block is located in the city center, and the surrounding buildings "encircle" it; the appearance of these buildings affects the overall architectural style of Wenmiao Block. "The surrounding buildings have problems such as aging and fading exterior wall coatings and exposed air-conditioner outdoor units, which contrast sharply with the newly built Wenmiao Block and also affect the image of Pengcheng Qili," introduced Li Peng, the project manager. This project includes exterior facade restoration, addition of decorative aluminum panels, antique-style air-conditioner covers, roof flying-eave modeling, and restoration of historical context.
　　According to the introduction, this project involves three batches of facade renovation. Among them, the ** batch of renovation projects are Building 2 of Hongxue Lane, Building 18 of Hongxue Lane, the Power Supply Company Metering Center, and Building 70 of Heqing Road. The second batch of renovation projects are some buildings in Yongkang Community and Pailou Market. The third batch of renovation projects are Building B of Fuchengge Community, No. 11 Jiahe East Street, and 1818 Food Plaza.
　　At present, the ** batch of renovation projects has completed the construction bidding work, and the construction unit has entered the site and started construction. Exterior wall real-stone paint work is underway, and residents' self-installed security nets, rain canopies and protruding balconies are being removed. The second batch of renovation projects has completed the plan and is undergoing construction drawing design. The third batch of renovation projects is undergoing plan design.

　　Civil Engineering of the Eastern Ring Expressway Enters the Closing Stage
　　Recently, Section 12 of the Xuzhou Eastern Ring Expressway took the lead in completing the roadbed construction task, building a 4.8-kilometer-long roadbed to high standards, including earthwork filling for the ramp of the Suining West Interchange Hub and the roadbed of the Huai-Xu Expressway, with a total of about 820,000 cubic meters of earthwork filled.
　　"This construction is one of the key node projects of this project. After close communication with all parties and optimization of the construction plan, the project department gradually overcame difficulties such as complex terrain, multiple traffic diversions, cross-operation of bridge construction, and severe environmental protection conditions, and carried out whole-process testing of indicators such as construction height, width, flatness and compaction degree," introduced the person in charge of the Section 12 project department. During construction, the project department strictly followed design specifications, strictly controlled the quality of raw materials, closely monitored construction procedures, and carefully controlled the layered filling and rolling quality of each procedure, thereby effectively connecting with the original roadbed and ensuring the stability and safety of the construction structure, effectively guaranteeing construction quality.
　　According to the introduction, as of now, Section 12 has completed a cumulative output value of 792 million yuan, accounting for 81.8% of the total project volume. Looking at the entire Eastern Ring Expressway project, the civil engineering is currently in the closing stage, and the pavement project is carrying out large-scale construction. The remaining roadbed earthwork construction has a tight schedule and heavy tasks, and all sections are reversing the schedule and going all out to catch up with construction progress.

　　Roads Occupied by Phase II of Metro Line 3 Construction Restored and Reopened to Traffic
　　Recently, the Tuolanshan Road section involved in Houpantaocun Station of Phase II of Metro Line 3 has been smoothly restored and reopened to traffic. This reopening has greatly eased traffic pressure on Tuolanshan Road, Guangde Road and Zhenxing Avenue, significantly improved residents' driving convenience and safety, and provided the public with a safe, smooth and civilized travel environment.
　　To meet part of the construction needs of Houpantaocun Station of Phase II of Metro Line 3, partial closure of Tuolanshan Road began on September 30, 2022. To ensure public passage needs, measures such as phased traffic diversion enclosures and efficient construction were adopted during construction. Regular road restoration work meetings were held with civil construction units and road construction units, and inspections of roads around the metro were carried out from time to time to ensure that road facilities around the metro were intact and to safeguard the travel safety of surrounding residents.
　　Under the organization and coordination of the Metro Group, the road restoration project for the Houpantaocun Station section entered the site on November 6 last year and successfully completed road restoration construction in 177 days. The restored road length is about 506 meters, including pipeline relocation, pavement structural layer construction, and excavation and reconstruction of some old pavements. The relevant person in charge of the project said that next, the Metro Group will continuously optimize the road restoration plan, restore traffic on construction-occupied roads on time, and ensure that Phase II of Xuzhou Metro Line 3 opens smoothly on schedule.
