On May 9, as the last 32.6-meter-long, 505-ton box girder was steadily placed on Pier 16 of the Putao Gou Right-Line Bridge on the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway, the Putao Gou Right-Line Bridge on the Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Xiamen High-Speed Railway successfully completed the erection of its final box girder, marking the full completion of all 11 bridges on the Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway. This also makes it the first section on the entire line to complete the girder erection construction task.

It is reported that the Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway has a total length of 25.56 kilometers and involves 11 bridges and 3 tunnels. Among them, 7 bridges require box girder erection, with 181 simply supported box girders to be erected, each weighing up to 505 tons. Ninety percent of the Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway is located in mountainous areas with lush vegetation and complex geology and topography. The girder erection areas have steep gradients and small line curve radii, and the work is adjacent to or crosses over existing operating railway lines, posing high safety risks and affecting construction operations. To address this, the construction contractor continuously optimized the construction plan through satellite cloud image comparison and selection, on-site field surveys, and feasibility study discussions, and carefully organized scientific operations to advance railway construction in an orderly manner.

Wu Zhangjun, deputy manager of the girder erection division of the project management department for Section 13 (pre-station works) of the Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway under China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group, introduced that the comprehensive application of the bridge erection machine automated operation system, girder lifting and positioning system, and environmental monitoring system enabled real-time monitoring of girder erection operations and environmental and water conservation within the section, providing strong guarantees for the successful completion of the bridge erection task in the section.

It is reported that the newly built Chongqing-Qianjiang Railway is an important component of the Chongqing-Xiamen corridor within the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" national medium- and long-term railway network plan. After completion and commissioning, the travel time from Qianjiang, Chongqing to the central urban area will be shortened from the current 4 hours to 1 hour, which will further strengthen transportation links among urban agglomerations in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, promote economic and social development in areas along the line, and greatly improve travel conditions for the people along the route.
