Recently, the Haizhu Bay Tunnel project of Guangzhou Communications Investment Group successfully completed its segment production task. Since the project began pouring ** segments in September 2022, more than seven hundred days and nights have passed, and all segment pouring has now been completed, providing support for the goal of achieving full-line breakthrough of the shield tunnel in July this year. Meanwhile, reporters learned that each segment has its own "identity," and the deployment of robots and the introduction of intelligent equipment help safeguard its quality.

The Haizhu Bay Tunnel runs through Haizhu District and Panyu District, with a total length of 4.35 kilometers. It is the first super-large-diameter municipal shield tunnel in the Pearl River basin. The shield section of the tunnel is 2,102 meters long and consists of 2,117 rings of segments in total for the east and west lines. Each ring is composed of 10 segments, using a "7+2+1" block format, namely 7 standard blocks, 2 adjacent blocks, and 1 key block. According to reports, every segment produced for the Haizhu Bay Tunnel has its own unique "ID card." By spraying a QR code onto the segment, an information file is created for it, recording all information throughout its full life cycle during production, transportation, storage, and use, enabling "one-code access" to the segment's pouring, steam curing, factory release, transportation, storage, use, batch, and inspection data, and running through the entire process of ring production, ring transportation, ring storage, and ring use.

It is reported that after the Haizhu Bay Tunnel project is completed, it is expected to take only 15 minutes to travel directly from Guangzhou's central urban area to Guangzhou South Railway Station. At present, the Haizhu Bay Tunnel project has completed 71% of its physical progress, and the overall project is expected to open to traffic fully in June 2025.
