On May 10, on the eve of International Nurses Day, the Guangzhou celebration of the "5·12" International Nurses Day, themed "Developing the Nursing Workforce, Optimizing Nursing Services" and co-hosted by the Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission and the Guangzhou Federation of Trade Unions, was held in Guangzhou. At the event, the list of the 2024 Top 100 "Guangzhou Good Nurses" and the first-ever Top Ten "Yangcheng Nursing Stars" was announced, and the Guangzhou "Internet Plus Nursing Services" platform was officially launched.

At the event, 100 outstanding nurses who excelled in dedication to their posts, professional excellence, and integrity and innovation were awarded the 2024 "Guangzhou Good Nurses" honorary title. Ten nursing representatives who performed outstandingly in shouldering responsibility, advancing the discipline, and serving the people received the first-ever "Yangcheng Nursing Stars" honorary title.

This is the first time Guangzhou has selected "Yangcheng Nursing Stars." As outstanding representatives of Guangzhou's nursing discipline, this year's awardees have made prominent contributions in participating in emergency rescue operations for unexpected incidents, carrying out external professional technical assistance, nursing volunteer services and paired assistance, leading science and technology projects, and focusing on solving frontline clinical nursing problems, thereby helping to promote the high-quality development of the nursing discipline in the Guangzhou area. The Guangzhou Municipal Health Commission stated that it hopes nursing workers will stay true to their original aspirations, bravely shoulder their missions, continue to maintain the fine style of dedication to their posts, fully carry forward the noble spirit of saving lives and healing the wounded and being willing to contribute, and make new and greater contributions to improving the health and well-being of the people.

At the same time, in order to actively respond to population aging, meet the public's health needs, and broaden the depth and breadth of specialized nursing, the Guangzhou "Internet Plus Nursing Services" platform was also officially launched at the event. The launch of this platform bridges the "last mile" of Guangzhou's nursing services, helps extend high-quality nursing to communities, and makes professional care more convenient. At present, the platform has attracted 36 hospitals to join, forming the first batch of 43 mature "Internet Plus Nursing Services" project specifications. Citizens in need of nursing services can access relevant services through the "Guangzhou Health Connect" mini program.
