On May 9, reporters learned from the Jiujiang Municipal Transport Bureau session of the Jiujiang "Three Major Offensive Actions" press conference that the Xingan–Ruichang, Pengze–Susong (river-crossing channel), Tongcheng–Xiushui–Tonggu, and Tongshan–Wuning projects are the four key expressway offensive projects in Jiujiang for 2024, and they are expected to begin construction in 2024 or 2025 respectively.

　　In the early stage of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the Jiujiang Municipal Transport Bureau, taking comprehensive account of the shortcomings of transport corridors during the "13th Five-Year Plan" and future construction needs, took the lead in formulating the "14th Five-Year Plan" transport plan, striving to build a "seven vertical, four horizontal, three linking" expressway network and an "eight vertical, seven horizontal, twelve linking" national and provincial trunk highway network, and to promote the formation of a new pattern of an integrated water-land-air multimodal transport system featuring "major corridors, major networks, major hubs, and major transport". After the mid-term of the "14th Five-Year Plan", the Jiujiang Municipal Transport Bureau, in light of local development conditions and taking comprehensive account of factors such as the necessity and feasibility of transport projects and difficulties in fundraising, scientifically organized the mid-term evaluation of the transport plan, further refined the scale of transport project construction, and gave priority to key projects such as the westward relocation and reconstruction of G105, the Hukou–Jiujiang second cross-lake channel, the G220 Wuxue–Ruichang river-crossing channel, the Pengze–Susong river-crossing channel, and the Xingan–Ruichang Expressway, accelerating preliminary work and seeking policy support so as to promote sound and rapid project construction.

　　It is noteworthy that, according to the key task requirements of the 2024 Jiujiang Infrastructure (Transport) Offensive Action Plan, there are four key expressway offensive projects led by the Jiujiang Municipal Transport Bureau, namely the Xingan–Ruichang, Pengze–Susong (river-crossing channel), Tongcheng–Xiushui–Tonggu, and Tongshan–Wuning expressways.

　　At present, the Xingan–Ruichang Expressway and the Pengze–Susong river-crossing channel are progressing smoothly. Both expressways have been incorporated into the National Highway Network Plan and have passed the mid-term adjustment of the highway "14th Five-Year Plan" development plan, so they can obtain policy support such as funding subsidies, and the construction conditions are relatively mature. Among them, the feasibility study report for the Xingan–Ruichang Expressway project has been submitted to the Provincial Development and Reform Commission for approval, and every effort is being made to start construction by the end of 2024. For the Pengze–Susong river-crossing channel, basic agreement has been reached with Anhui Province on the bridge site scheme and construction scheme, and the relevant matters concerning the signing of the agreement are being improved, with every effort being made to start construction in 2025.

　　The Tongcheng–Xiushui–Tonggu and Tongshan–Wuning expressways are stepping up related work such as supporting fund-raising and resumption-of-work negotiations, with every effort being made to achieve commencement and resumption of construction for the two projects in 2024.
