Recently, the No. 1 main pier of the Tuojiang River Grand Bridge in Section 5 (before the station) of the newly built Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line Railway (Sichuan Section), constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, has been fully completed.

The Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway is an important component of the Yangtze River Corridor of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed rail network. The line is located between the already operational Chengdu-Chongqing High-Speed Railway and the Chengdu-Suining-Chongqing Railway, occupying a highly important position in the network. The Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway starts from Chongqing North Station in the Chongqing hub, runs westward through Yubei District, Shapingba District, Bishan District, Tongliang District, and Dazu District of Chongqing Municipality, as well as Ziyang City and Chengdu City of Sichuan Province, and connects to Chengdu Station in the Chengdu hub. It is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, with a construction period of 5 years.

The Tuojiang River Grand Bridge is a double-track high-speed railway bridge with a total length of 1,253.85 meters. It crosses the Tuojiang River using a 320-meter steel-concrete composite arch bridge and is a key controlling project of the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line. According to the on-site technical director, the No. 1 main pier of the Tuojiang River Grand Bridge completed in this pouring adopts a portal-shaped solid pier, with a pier height of 14 meters, a longitudinal width of 16 meters, and a transverse width of 22.4 meters. The solid section at the top of the pier is 5 meters high, and the two limbs of the longitudinal portal pier are connected by two box-type tie beams. The overall structure resembles the Arc de Triomphe, with an elegant appearance and a complex structure.

It is understood that once the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line project is completed, it will connect with multiple lines, including the already completed and operational Xi'an-Chengdu High-Speed Railway and Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, as well as the under-construction Xining-Chengdu High-Speed Railway, Chengdu-Dazhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway, Xi'an-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, and Chongqing-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway.
