On May 7, in Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi, excavation began on the Nafu Tunnel of the Huangtong-Baise Railway. This is the first extra-large tunnel to start construction along the entire line, marking that the tunnel works of the Guangxi section of the Huang-Bai Railway have fully entered the construction phase.
The Nafu Tunnel has a total length of 12,357 meters and is one of seven extra-large tunnels exceeding 10 kilometers along the entire Huang-Bai Railway. According to the construction plan, the tunnel will adopt an auxiliary tunnel layout of "2 inclined shafts and 1 parallel heading," with a total of 7 working faces for construction.
The Huang-Bai Railway has a total length of approximately 315 kilometers, a design speed of 160 kilometers per hour, and a construction period of 5 years. It is a landmark project of the New Western Land-Sea Corridor and the main corridor of the western railway line. Once completed, the project will become the freight backbone corridor with the shortest transport distance, optimal efficiency, and shortest operating time from Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, and Guangxi to the Beibu Gulf Port. It is of great significance for further improving the regional railway network layout and promoting regional economic and social development.
