The construction of the Phase II project of the Maijia River Sewage Treatment Plant in Baiyun District is an important measure to continuously and thoroughly advance the battle for clean water and a major strategic deployment to promote the systematic governance of the water environment. Once completed and put into operation in 2024, it will have practical significance for enhancing the district's sewage treatment capacity. Since the beginning of this year, Baiyun District has advanced this key project with "three strengthenings" to accelerate construction and improve efficiency.

　　Strengthen on-site supervision. To ensure that key tasks progress according to schedule, the office of the district's "Strengthen Ecology" command center, based on the first-quarter scheduling, conducted on-site surveys of the demolition sites affecting project construction progress, sorted out and provided on-site feedback on existing problems, gave full play to the main-force role of the project construction task force, promoted the implementation of work, and enhanced the sense of responsibility and initiative of the lead departments and responsible departments in addressing shortcomings.

　　Strengthen construction progress. To strengthen supervision and management of project construction, a comprehensive plan was made for construction progress. Based on the project volume and the current status of the construction teams, a reverse schedule was set for subsequent work, urging the construction unit to deepen its understanding, make every effort to implement foundation pit construction, activate human resources, strengthen the housing demolition and geological survey work for four numbered plots in order of priority, strengthen consultation and communication with villagers, actively seek public understanding and support, and adopt a "handover while construction" approach to resolve the housing demolition work for the remaining six numbered plots, striving by all means to accelerate project construction progress.

　　Strengthen element guarantees. To ensure the continuity of on-site project construction, resolving the "bottleneck" problem of construction funds was taken as an important current task. On the basis of funds raised in the earlier stage, further targeted efforts were made to urge the industry lead departments to raise funds through diverse methods, reduce dependence on a single channel, and gradually build funding guarantee mechanisms such as government subsidies and social donations to meet project construction needs, striving to complete the main works and put them into trial operation by the end of the year.

　　Next, the "Strengthen Ecology" command center of Baiyun District will strengthen communication and coordination with the competent industry departments, take "on-site field verification" as the starting point, continue to follow up on the progress of relevant key work, provide timely feedback when problems are found, urge responsible departments to fulfill their main responsibilities, ensure that targets and tasks produce real results, and continuously consolidate the ecological foundation of "strengthening the provincial capital".
