According to forecasts from the State Grid Smart Internet of Vehicles platform, this year's "May Day" holiday will see charging peaks at expressway service areas across many parts of the country, with average daily charging sessions nationwide expected to exceed 300,000, an increase of over 50% compared with the same period last year, and the single-day peak is also expected to be more than 50% higher than during the Spring Festival holiday.

To cope with the expressway charging peak during the May Day holiday, many parts of the country have stepped up the upgrading and renovation of charging piles. Tianjin completed the upgrading and renovation of 103 charging piles before the holiday, achieving full coverage of fast-charging piles across all 17 expressways in the city. In Chongqing, the power department built seven new super charging stations in expressway service areas with heavy traffic, adding 56 charging spaces.

At the same time, localities have also increased the deployment of mobile emergency charging vehicles and other equipment. In Shanghai, the power department deployed mobile emergency charging vehicles at the Fengjing service area of the G60 Shanghai-Kunming Expressway to meet charging demand during peak periods. In Jiangsu, the power department flexibly dispatched 18 mobile charging vehicles to provide emergency charging services, making every effort to ensure green travel for car owners during the holiday.
