According to the Anhui Provincial Development and Reform Commission: On the afternoon of April 26, Li Chunlin, Deputy Director of the National Development and Reform Commission, chaired the 13th Consultation Meeting on Preliminary Work of Railway Projects in Beijing.

Song Xiude, Deputy General Manager of China State Railway Group, responsible officials from relevant departments and bureaus of the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the Ministry of Water Resources, the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, the National Railway Administration, and the National Cultural Heritage Administration, as well as from the development and reform commissions of all provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions), and responsible officials of State Grid Corporation of China attended the meeting. Zhang Xinzhou, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission, led the Railway Construction Office to attend the meeting.

At the meeting, the Infrastructure Department of the National Development and Reform Commission reported on the overall situation of national railway construction in 2023 and the overall arrangements for railway construction in 2024. China State Railway Group introduced the specific work arrangements for key railway projects in 2024.

The meeting noted that with the full support of relevant national departments and the joint efforts of China State Railway Group and local governments, the 2023 railway construction investment task was successfully completed. The meeting required that all localities and departments implement the arrangements of the Central Economic Work Conference, further raise their political stance, refine work measures, implement working mechanisms, strengthen coordination and linkage, and ensure that the 2024 railway construction tasks are completed on schedule.

Among the national key projects under scheduled preliminary work in 2024, three involve Anhui Province: the newly started Suqian–Sixian section of the Hefei–Suqian Railway; and the reserve-started Fuyang–Huanggang section of the Beijing–Hong Kong High-Speed Railway and the Nanyang–Xinyang–Hefei High-Speed Railway.

Next, the Provincial Development and Reform Commission will further intensify its efforts, fully cooperate with China State Railway Group and other relevant parties to advance the preliminary work with high quality, and ensure that construction starts on schedule.
