Recently, two Jintai SX50/SX50S double-wheel trench cutters were operating simultaneously at the Qijiang Xincheng Station of the Nanzhong Intercity Railway. Their rapid construction efficiency and strong rock-breaking capability gave the project two "reassurance pills." The project involves a construction depth of 32–38 m and a trench width of 1–1.2 m. Considering the tight schedule and heavy workload of the project, as well as the geological characteristic that the 32 m to 38 m section consists entirely of completely weathered granite, rotary drilling for guide holes and grab-assisted construction are required. At present, the Jintai SX series double-wheel trench cutters on site can complete one wall panel in less than 24 hours. To date, 45 wall panels have been completed out of a total of 100.
