Following March 19, when the "Hangde No. 5" shield machine broke through the wall inside the receiving shaft at the north end of Qianqiu Square Station in Section 2 of Work Area 2 of Bid 1 of the Hangde Regional Railway, marking the successful breakthrough of the right line of the project's final shield-driven section—the Qianqiu Square Station to Sports Center Station section—on April 24 the "Hangde No. 6" shield machine broke through the wall inside the receiving shaft at the north end of Qianqiu Square Station, marking the breakthrough of the left line of the Qianqiu Square Station to Sports Center Station section in Section 2 of Work Area 2 of Bid 1 of the company's Hangde Regional Railway. With this, all three shield-driven sections of the project have been successfully completed, and subsequent construction of the stations and ancillary structures will be fully accelerated.

The Hangde Regional Railway project starts at Renhe North Station in Yuhang, Hangzhou, and ends at Deqing High-Speed Railway Station in Huzhou. The Section 2 of Work Area 2 project undertaken by the company comprises three shield-driven sections and two stations. The left line of the Qianqiu Square Station to Sports Center Station section completed this time has a total length of 1,758.8 meters and a burial depth of 10.5 to 18.5 meters, and was constructed using the "Hangde No. 6" composite earth pressure balance shield machine with a diameter of 6.98 meters. Setting out from Sports Center Station, the section runs westward along Deqing Avenue, turns south near Yingxi Bridge, passes beneath Yuying Creek (a river) twice over long distances, and is received at Qianqiu Square Station; the section includes two cross passages.

The Qianqiu Square Station to Sports Center Station section is the shield-driven section with the highest rock strength, the greatest water content, and the most complex strata. Construction of the section faced complex challenges including two passages beneath Yuying Creek, open-chamber cutter replacement under atmospheric pressure, and tunneling through full-face hard rock and mixed faces of soft upper and hard lower strata, posing considerable construction difficulty and risk.

To ensure safe and efficient construction of the section, the project team carefully formulated the construction plan and organized several special meetings for study and discussion. During shield tunneling, the project team strictly adhered to the safety red line and, under the company's unified guidance and support, implemented the "one inspection, three patrols, two monitoring and control" measures, strictly enforced the leadership shift supervision system, carried out various safety inspections in detail, and controlled on-site construction strictly and meticulously; it further advanced the "four trainings, four mindsets, four transformations" initiative, conducted safety training, strengthened on-site briefings, organized emergency drills, and focused on enhancing project safety assurance.

During preparations for shield reception, the project management team refined the shield construction standards, exercised strict control over this shield reception in accordance with Grade I risk standards, made good use of technological means, and used a visualized construction management platform to carry out information-based management of the entire shield tunneling process, adjusting tunneling parameters in a timely manner to ensure smooth construction. Through comprehensive institutional and technical management, the safe and high-quality completion of this shield reception was ensured.
