The Qinzhou North Bypass Expressway project, undertaken by China Energy Engineering Corporation Gezhouba No. 1 Company, is currently progressing smoothly, with Phase II and Phase III construction fully launched. Once completed, Qinzhou City will end its history of having "zero ring expressways," which is of great significance for building the "New Western Land-Sea Corridor" and promoting the development of the "China-ASEAN Free Trade Area."
On April 24, reporters at the construction site of the Qinjiang Grand Bridge on the Qinzhou North Bypass Expressway, located in Goukou Village, Pingji Town, Qinbei District, observed that with the coordinated cooperation of concrete mixer trucks and pump trucks, construction workers were stepping up concrete pouring for Pier No. 31, Segment No. 15, to ensure the project proceeds in an orderly manner according to schedule.

The 1,873-meter-long Qinjiang Grand Bridge is the most important controlling project of the Qinzhou North Bypass Expressway project, adopting a double-tower, three-span low-tower cable-stayed bridge structure. With a tight construction schedule, high construction difficulty, high technical requirements, and high safety management difficulty, it also crosses the Pinglu Canal, creating a cross-construction situation that adds certain difficulties to the construction of the Qinjiang Grand Bridge. To ensure safe production and project quality, the project department has formulated special construction plans and emergency response plans, reversed the construction schedule, refined milestone targets, arranged project management personnel to work alongside shifts, and strictly implemented safety and quality management systems. The plan is to complete the closure and connection of the entire bridge by the end of this year.
It is understood that the Qinzhou North Bypass Expressway is one of the 12 bypass lines in the "Guangxi Expressway Network Plan (2018-2030)," the national strategic expressway network plan implemented by Guangxi. It is a regional trunk highway located in the northern part of Qinzhou's central urban area, connecting with the Hepu-Napo Expressway, horizontally linking the Lanzhou-Haikou Expressway and the Liuqin Expressway, and realizing traffic flow conversion between longitudinal corridors. The project has a total length of 42.68 kilometers and a total investment of approximately 5.778 billion yuan. The entire line adopts the standard of a two-way, four-lane expressway with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. As of now, the project has completed a cumulative investment of approximately 3.517 billion yuan. The cumulative progress of the project's physical works is 96% for roadbed engineering, 20% for pavement engineering, 80% for bridge engineering, and 100% for culvert engineering, and building construction has been fully launched.
Upon completion, the project will rationally densify the highway network in southern Guangxi, adapt to transportation growth and the collection and distribution needs of the Beibu Gulf, accelerate the implementation of the Beibu Gulf urban agglomeration development plan, strengthen connections between Beibu Gulf ports, improve the expressway transit efficiency of Qinzhou City, reduce vehicle detours, alleviate traffic pressure on the southwestern ring section of the Lanzhou-Haikou Expressway in Qinzhou, enhance the overall efficiency of the expressway network, and be of great significance for promoting economic development and the development of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.
