It is reported that in order to accelerate the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, serve the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, deeply promote the construction of an inland international logistics hub and a highland of ports, expand high-level opening-up, better radiate to the western region and serve the whole country, and better contribute to Chinese-style modernization, the "Chongqing Five-Year Action Plan for Accelerating the Construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (2023-2027)" was issued last year.

The Plan points out that it is necessary to strengthen the construction of major corridors, major logistics, and major port infrastructure, accelerate the completion of an international comprehensive transportation hub and an inland international logistics hub, enhance the level of connectivity and integration of the corridors, and provide support for promoting the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle. Chongqing should continue to give play to its leading, driving, and exemplary role as the center for corridor logistics and operational organization, and promote the coordinated development of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor with the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

One of the key tasks proposed in the Plan is to improve the infrastructure network and enhance the supporting capacity of the corridors, including three aspects:

Build a dense comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network for the corridors

Accelerate the construction of the "seven major transportation corridors" of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor.

Chongqing-Beibu Gulf CorridorComplete the Chongqing-Qianjiang section of the Chongqing-Hunan High-Speed Railway, strive to start construction of the Qianjiang-Jishou High-Speed Railway, accelerate the preliminary work of the Chongqing-Guizhou High-Speed Railway, and start construction of projects such as the Chongqing section of the Xiushan-Yinjiang Expressway.

Chongqing-Central Yunnan CorridorComplete projects such as the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway and the Chongqing-Chishui-Xuyong Expressway Chongqing section.

Chongqing-Chengdu-Lhasa CorridorComplete the Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway, widen the Chengdu-Chongqing Expressway, and reconstruct and expand projects such as the Tongliang-Tongnan section of the Chongqing-Suining Expressway.

Chongqing-Lanxi-Northern Slopes of the Tianshan Mountains CorridorComplete projects such as the Beibei-Hechuan section of the Chongqing-Wuhan Expressway capacity expansion.

Chongqing-Ningxia Yellow River CorridorComplete projects such as the Chengkou-Chongqing-Shaanxi boundary section of the Chengkou-Kaizhou Expressway, and accelerate the construction of the Chongqing-Xi'an High-Speed Railway. Air CorridorComplete and put into use the T3B Terminal and the fourth runway project of Jiangbei International Airport, and the T2 Terminal expansion project of Wanzhou Airport.‍

Build a multi-level logistics hub node system

Accelerate the construction of "five types" of national logistics hubs, complete port-type, land-port-type, airport-type, and production-service-type national logistics hubs, and create a trade-service-type national logistics hub.

Complete the construction of key infrastructure such as the south freight yard of Yuzui Railway Freight Station, the cargo station of Jiangbei International Airport, and the multimodal transport transfer center of the highway logistics base. Build nine regional logistics node facilities in Wanzhou, Fuling, Qianjiang, Jiangjin, and other places. Complete and put into use more than 10 important logistics nodes outside the city along the corridors. Complete and put into use the Chongqing Inland Port of the New Land-Sea Trade Corridor, Phase II of Wanzhou Xintian Port and its port-access railway, Phase II of Fuling Longtou Port and its port-access railway, and renovate and put into use the Xiushan container freight yard. Support relevant enterprises in laying out and building a batch of logistics facilities such as overseas warehouses and distribution centers in countries (regions) along the corridors.‍

Improve port infrastructure and functions

Expand port opening-up, and promote the expansion of the Chongqing Port waterway port to open up the Wanzhou Xintian Port Area, Fuling Longtou Port Area, and Jiangjin Luohuang Port Area.

Make good use of existing designated supervision sites for imported special commodities, and put into use the designated supervision site for imported meat at the Chongqing Railway Port.
