According to the "Regulatory Detailed Planning for Units 01 and 02 of the Chenjiazhen Comprehensive Transportation Hub Unit (CMSA0006) in Chongming District, Shanghai" (Shanghai Municipal Planning [2023] No. 179), one comprehensive transportation hub is planned in the block northwest of the planned Chentong Road and planned Chennan Highway, where Chenjiazhen Station (tentative name) of Chongming Line (tentative name) of the rail transit is located, with a land area of approximately 11.0 hectares.

The Chenjiazhen Comprehensive Transportation Hub is positioned as the land transportation center of eastern Chongming, undertaking the passenger transport transfer function between the Chongdong area, Chenjiazhen and the main urban area. It is a district-level comprehensive hub that integrates metro connection transfer (Exit 4 of Chenjiazhen Station (tentative name)), bus hub, bus parking and maintenance, long-distance passenger transport (tourist distribution), taxi stands, public parking, and non-motorized vehicle parking. Space is also reserved for the terminal station and vehicle depot of the medium-capacity transit system.

The Chenjiazhen Comprehensive Transportation Hub and supporting works are currently at the project initiation stage and are expected to be basically completed by the end of 2027. Upon completion, the project will have positive practical significance for Chenjiazhen in building a fast and green transportation transfer system, operating ground public transport, and providing supporting services for regional bus vehicles, and will strongly support the development of Chongming District and the construction of Dongtan.
