Among this, the "3 Hundreds" municipal key projects accounted for more than 30% of citywide investment; all 30 municipal key projects scheduled to start in the first quarter began on schedule; and all 160 major municipal and district projects scheduled to start in the first quarter have begun construction, with total investment reaching 253 billion yuan.

Chaoyang Station transportation hub enters peak construction period, to be delivered and put into use by the end of the year
On the west side of Chaoyang Station, a spherical building has risen above ground. Inside, patches of light fall from the roof, keeping the interior bright. The overall design conveys the meaning of "stars shining in the sky." Before long, this will become the transportation interchange hub for Chaoyang Station.
The Chaoyang Station transportation hub is a comprehensive transportation hub built as a supporting facility for Beijing Chaoyang Station on the Beijing-Shenyang Passenger Dedicated Line. To the north is a multi-story bus parking building, and to the south is the transfer hall. It is planned to have 16 bus routes, 80 bus parking spaces, 8 tour bus spaces, 600 ride-hailing and taxi spaces, and 1,500 bicycle spaces. In the transfer hall, nearly 9,000 square meters of commercial space has been reserved, which will later house food and beverage outlets, boutique shops, and other commercial tenants.
Standing in the Chaoyang Station transportation hub, the entire hall can be seen at a glance. Two giant grid columns shaped like morning glories rise from 19 meters underground straight to 28 meters above ground. These two grid columns support a giant roof of nearly 30,000 square meters, enabling the entire hall to achieve a column-free system and maintain an open, transparent space.
Ma Xiaohui, project manager of the Xinghuo Station transportation hub of Beijing Construction Engineering Group, introduced that passengers have zero-distance access from the railway exit gates to the transfer hall. Going down, they can transfer to the subway; going up, they can transfer to buses; and walking on the same level, they can transfer to ride-hailing vehicles and other means of transportation. Considering residents' demand for ride-hailing travel, dedicated ride-hailing spaces have been set up on the third floor of the multi-story parking building. This floor is on the same level as the railway exit, so passengers only need to walk 150 meters to transfer, reducing transfer time. In the multi-story parking building, specially decorated rest areas for ride-hailing drivers and bus drivers and other special areas have also been set up to further improve residents' travel experience.
At present, the Chaoyang Station transportation hub is in its peak construction period. More than 1,500 workers inside the hub are carrying out renovation construction. It is expected that by the end of this year, the Chaoyang Station transportation hub will be officially delivered for use.

Largest fully established school under construction to open on September 1 next year
At the beginning of this year, Phase I of the Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus in the Dongba area of Chaoyang District officially broke ground. After two months of construction, the foundation of the high school section has been completed, and rebar tying construction is currently underway. The foundation of the middle school section has also begun to take shape.
The Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus is divided into three phases. Phase I is a full middle school with 78 classes, including 24 middle school classes and 54 high school classes, with a building scale of more than 80,000 square meters. This is also currently the largest full middle school under construction in Beijing. Once completed, it will serve the entire Dongba area. Phase II consists of public area facilities, which have already received approval and are planned to start construction within the year. On September 1 next year, the full middle school and the Phase II public facilities area will be completed and delivered at the same time, and the school will officially open. Phase III is located on the south side of the school and is a reserved plot. With the development of the Dongba Fourth Embassy District, construction will be started in due course.
At the flat construction site, four trees surrounded by yellow scaffolding stand out. It turns out that these are four ancient trees specially preserved by the school. The on-site project manager introduced that these ancient trees were retained during the earlier demolition. Two of them are 200-year-old trees and two are 300-year-old trees. Before construction, a third party was specially hired to care for the ancient trees. During construction, the project will also avoid the use of surrounding tower cranes and other construction equipment.
School construction has higher requirements for safety and seismic resistance. A relevant person in charge of the Beijing Middle School Dongba North Campus introduced that the project adopts a steel structure prefabricated construction method, which provides higher structural stability and more reliable schedule efficiency. It is expected that by September this year, the main structure will be topped out. Next year, work will mainly involve mechanical and electrical installation, interior work, and renovation. The project will be fully completed and delivered before September next year. After completion, the overall building level will reach the Green Building Three-Star standard, and the seismic resistance level will reach grade 8.

Aero-engine maintenance project under construction has capacity booked through 2047
In Zone II of the Shunyi Tianzhu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the Beijing Aero Engine Maintenance project, covering 126 mu, started construction in August 2023. At present, the plant foundation construction has been completed. It is expected that the building structure will be topped out by the end of this year, and at the end of December 2025, the first engine will officially enter the site for maintenance.
It is understood that the project is a new joint venture, Beijing Aero Engine Maintenance Co., Ltd., established by Air China Limited and Rolls-Royce. According to the plan, it will enter full operation in 2026 and reach full capacity in 2034, achieving a volume of 250 engine overhauls per year."

Fangshan Dashi River flood damage restoration project to be completed by the end of May
When the "23·7" flood occurred, water conservancy projects and water supply and drainage facilities in Fangshan District suffered severe damage. Among them, the Tangshang-Koutou Village Bridge section of the Dashi River in Fangshan District was seriously damaged. According to statistics, the damaged river channel stretched 40 kilometers, and 27 river-crossing bridges and low-water bridges were washed away. In addition, overflow dams, drainage outlets, river patrol roads, and railings were also damaged to varying degrees.
The Dashi River is a tributary of the North Juma River. It originates northwest of Tangshang Village in Xiayunling Township, Fangshan District, and enters Hebei Province at Zucun Village in Liulihe Town. Its basin area is 1,280 square kilometers, and the river is 129 kilometers long in total, of which about 125.35 kilometers lies within Fangshan District.
In October 2023, the flood damage restoration project for the Dashi River (Tangshang-Koutou Village Bridge) in Fangshan District officially started. At present, the project has completed 38.13 kilometers of river dredging and 17.85 kilometers of bank slope and retaining wall restoration, with cumulative progress of 86.31%. It is planned to be fully completed before the end of May this year.
It is reported that the project involves Xiayunling Township, Fozizhuang Township, Hebei Town, and Qinglonghu Town, with a river length of 83.4 kilometers. The main construction includes riverbed dredging, bank slope and retaining wall restoration, river patrol roads, bridge area revetment, and bridges. In accordance with flood control standards of a 10-year return period for the mountainous section and a 20-year return period for the plain section, restoration is being carried out in situ and to the original standards. When the project is completed, the river's original flood control capacity will be restored.
